Blake Newport Gains ISO 9001 Status

Blake Newport achieved another milestone in our development on Friday 13th April 2007, when we were awarded the BS EN ISO 9001 certification for Quality Management Systems.

This is the culmination of the efforts of several people who have been involved in achieving this, to all the Company extends its thanks.

How important is this?
It is reported that only 5% of British businesses have been successful in gaining the ISO accreditation, and therefore it signifies membership of an exclusive club. ISO 9001 is recognised in over 100 countries world-wide and is therefore internationally recognised.

Achieving this accreditation is a positive statement of our intent to seek continued self-improvement and signifies a high level of confidence within the business and its staff.

What does this mean?
First and foremost it sets new and higher standards to which we must all adhere in our management activities, and it means that the Company will extend greater effort in ensuring its adopted management processes are adhered to.

Also in keeping with our intent to provide a “Virtual Office” environment for the benefit of all staff whether they are on secondment or in the offices, more processes will be migrated to the intranet.

What are the advantages?
The primary advantage will be the clear understanding by all staff in the company of those processes which govern all activities in the business. The discipline arising from Accreditation will ensure that proper standards are adopted and maintained and that these are properly thought out and integrated in the existing business processes. It also generates confidence in our clients by assuring them that we intend to adhere to best practice in our management activities.

We would like to say that the fact we have achieved this Accreditation in the first assessment is a credit to all our staff in their co-operation with the company in the adoption of new practices over the last year, particularly the development and adoption of intranet based practices and processes.
