Blake Newport lead an IT and Telecoms Contract Management Roundtable event on 20 June on the 38th floor of the Gherkin Building in the City of London. This debate will be featured in a forthcoming issue of Supply Management magazine, which is the publication of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CiPS).
Greg Brownlee chaired the event, with Paul Carter Hemlin and Michael Porter taking part in the debate along with senior commercial representatives from Orange, Centrica, HP, Alcatel-Lucent, CMA Contiki and Oracle. In addition to the industry representatives we were also joined by Tim Cummins the CEO of the IACCM and Dr David Lowe from Manchester Business School.
Over lunch the attendees debated the issues facing Contract Management as a profession whilst a journalist from the magazine recorded the conversation and a photographer took pictures for the article.
In addition to the publicity for Blake Newport that the published article will generate the event gave us the opportunity to meet and get to know some senior commercial figures all of whom are potential clients for the practice.
The article and photographs once published will be stored on the intranet for all to see.
