Senior Commercial Management and Dispute Resolution Consultant – NW

Description

As a member of the northern commercial team the position will require a person with well rounded commercial management and dispute experience.

The position will require an experienced, professional commercial manager with the ability to:


  1. review and analysis of tender and contract documentation

  2. provide full commercial management of a construction project through to the agreement of the final account

  3. aid in the preparation of dispute referral, response and reply documents

  4. demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial procedures, the principles of contract law

  5. prepare, assess and interrogate construction costs

  6. interpret and operate both standard form and bespoke contract procedures and mechanisms

  7. demonstrate a working knowledge of dispute resolution procedures, Adjudication in particular.


Candidate
You should be MRICS or possess an equivalent qualification from a relevant organisation such as the CIOB (or be in the process of achieving such status); with a minimum of 10 years post professional qualification experience as a quantity surveyor or commercial manager. You need to be an effective communicator and have the willingness to contribute to Business Development.

Assignments will usually be undertaken within the client’s organisation, therefore, you must have the ability to work independently, possess sufficient confidence and judgement to request help, guidance and advice when required and maintain the highest standard of discretion.

Most assignments will be managed from the Leeds office and undertaken in the North West of England; however, the requirement to travel and work away from home is essential.

Contract and Commercial Consultant (IT) – Nationwide

Description

Reporting to the head of IT & Outsourcing, the position requires an experienced and technically skilled commercial and contract manager with the confidence, judgement, communication skills and discretion to work independently within the client’s organisation and make a difference.

Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:


  1. an excellent track record over the full contract lifecycle from bid to management to conclusion, including claims and dispute resolution

  2. a working knowledge of commercial procedures and the principles of contract law

  3. sound contract analysis, development, drafting and negotiation

  4. experience in IT, Telecoms or BPO contracts and supply chain agreements.


Candidates will have a minimum of five years post-qualification experience; possessing a degree and, ideally, a second degree (e.g. Masters, LLM) in a relevant subject.

Forensic / Dispute Planner – Nationwide

Description

Reporting to the Head of Planning, the position requires a highly experienced planner with experience in Forensic / Dispute planning, Tender Planning, live project planning, client development, client management and Dispute Resolution.

The position will require an experienced planning consultant with the ability to:


  1. conduct client briefings

  2. mentor the other team members

  3. prepare Risk Analysis of programmes

  4. prepare and write reports for clients

  5. liase directly with the client – interpreting and delivering what they need

  6. communicate well both externally and internally

  7. demonstrate strong written and technical skills

  8. demonstrate a solid understanding of all stages of the construction process

  9. demonstrate excellent knowledge of Delay and Disruption Analysis.


Candidate
You must be MRICS or above or the equivalent level within the CIOB or ICE; with a minimum of 10 years planning experience and ideally, five years experience of disputes for forensic work. You must have knowledge of P6 and / or Asta Powerproject.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have experience of contentious and non-contentious work.

Principal Commercial Management and Dispute Resolution Consultant - Darlington

Description

Reporting to the North East Head of Construction and Dispute Resolution; the position will manage the day to day running of the team’s commissions as well as conducting some client development and client management activities.

The position will require an experienced commercial manager with the ability to:


  1. interpret and operate both standard form and bespoke contract procedures and mechanisms

  2. demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial procedures, the principles of contract law

  3. prepare, assess and interrogate construction costs

  4. demonstrate a working knowledge of dispute resolution procedures, specifically Adjudication

  5. prepare dispute referral, response and reply documents

  6. prepare claims for loss and expense

  7. prepare or assist in preparing Expert Witness reports, Statements of Claim and Defence documents

  8. provide full commercial management of construction projects through to agreement of final account

  9. review and analyse tender and contract documentation

  10. provide strategic advice at all stages of the construction lifecycle.


Candidate
You must be MRICS with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience; degree qualified with (ideally), a second degree in a relevant subject (Masters, LLM).
