You will have


  1. excellent qualifications

  2. an excellent track record in commercialmanagement and/or claims and dispute resolution

  5. legal and / or contract experience

  6. some experience in client development and client management

Senior Planner – Nationwide

Description

Blake Newport has over 30 years of successful trading and is a highly respected professional consultancy delivering commercial and contract management services to a number of industry sectors.

We continue to have ambitious expansion plans and we are therefore seeking new Planning Engineers to join our growing team. Ideally you will have a minimum of 10 years plus experience and be astute in planning and programming techniques, particularly Forensic Planning.

All applicants must be Degree qualified or hold equivalent proprietary qualifications and possess a thorough understanding of the project life-cycle, planning controls and management processes from inception to close out of project programmes.

Based in one of our three offices (Darlington, Leeds, and London) you will have the ability to travel within the UK.

Experience in the following areas would be a distinct advantage:


  1. Planning: Implementation and Operation of Project Planning and Control Systems

  2. Control of live projects
  3. Delay and Disruption Analysis

  4. Software: Ability to use MS Project, Primavera 3.1 (version 3 to 6), Primavera P3e, Asta Powerproject, Teamplan, Easyplan and Navisworks

  5. Member or Fellow of the following organisations: CIOB, ICE, RICS.

You will have ten years plus experience of working for a main building / civil contractor or planning and project management consultants.

Commercial Management and Dispute Resolution Consultant - London

Description

Blake Newport provides commercial management and dispute resolution services to major construction companies, specialist sub-contractors and client organisations throughout the UK and internationally.

Reporting to the Head of Construction and Dispute Resolution for the South the position will be to provide consultancy services comprising:


  1. review and analysis of tender and contract documentation

  2. full commercial management of construction projects through to agreement of final account

  3. preparation of dispute referral, response and reply documents

  4. strategic advice at all stages of the construction lifecycle.

The role will require well rounded commercial management experience with the ability to interpret and operate both standard form and bespoke contract procedures and mechanisms.

Candidate
Candidates must be MRICS, possess a degree in Quantity Surveying and a minimum of 10 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Construction Commercial Manager. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial procedures, the principles of contract law and the ability to prepare, assess and interrogate construction costs.

Ideally, candidates will also have a working knowledge of dispute resolution procedures, Adjudication in particular, and have prepared or assisted in the preparation of referral or response documents, although this is not essential.

Assignments will usually be undertaken within the client organisation therefore candidates must have the ability to work independently, possess sufficient confidence and judgement to request help, guidance and advice when required and maintain the highest standard of discretion.

Most assignments will be managed from the Blake Newport London office and undertaken in the South of England, however, the requirement to travel when necessary is essential.

Senior Contract and Commercial Consultants - Darlington

Description

Blake Newport provides commercial management and dispute resolution services to major construction companies, specialist sub-contractors and client organisations throughout the UK and internationally.

Candidates must be degree qualified and must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in the manamgement of commercial issues during the delivery of complex engineering projects. A miniimum of 10 years experience as a Senior / Lead Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager is expected. MRICS status would be preferred. The candidate must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of commercial procedures, the principles of contract law and the ability to prepare, assess and interrogate construction costs.

Ideally, candidates will also have a working knowledge of dispute resolution procedures, Adjudication in particular, and have prepared or assisted in the preparation of referral or response documents, although this is not essential.
